The America-Wales battle reared its head once again in the category for Best Single, which was presented by burlesque artist Masuimi Max and Killswitch Engage's Howard Jones. An even split between British and international bands competed for this honour, with Fall Out Boy, Bullet For My Valentine, Muse, Trivium, Lostprophets and Placebo all hoping for a win. In the end, Wales rose to the top with Bullet For My Valentine taking away the trophy for 'Tears Don't Fall'. However, the coin was soon flipped when the winner for Best Video (sponsored by Kerrang! TV) was announced shortly afterwards, with Chicago's Fall Out Boy winning with 'Sugar, We're Going Down'. This Award was presented by the mighty Meat Loaf.

Well at least it wasn't Trivium, I suppose.

Placebo should win... ! Who the fuck this 'bullet for my valentine'?! I never heard about them... Infra red is not the best placebo single, but the band more better than all nominated. (Maybe I like the lostprophes, but they are too fashion-band.)

'I hate Bullet' thanks for telling it like it is. Everyone in South Wales know that Bullet changed their sound and image to get signed by Sony. A few years ago they were playing nu-metal and Phil Collins covers. We all know they're a joke who rely on little girls for popularity. Matt Tuck is the most arrogant, delusional idiot. Dignity Dies First, Hondo Maclean, Shaped by Fate are far superior. As for slating their long-term friends FFAF, that just goes to show how conceited and deluded they really are. They're as fake as Jordan's chest.
