The Classic Songwriter Award, presented by Kerrang! Radio's Ugly Phil, went to a band who have consistently produced hit singles and albums since breaking onto the UK music scene back in the mid 90's. Brian Molko, Stefan Olsdal and Steve Hewitt, aka Placebo, have retained a huge following since their early material, including popular single 'Nancy Boy', was released. Subsequent singles ('Pure Morning', 'Every You Every Me', 'Special K', 'Infra Red') have proved Placebo's admirable standing within alternative music.

welll, they really deserve it, BUT THEY SHOULD WON THE "BEST BAND OF THE WORLD" why? BECAUSE THAY HAS TRASPASSED MANY FRONTIERS AND GET TO COUNTRIES WHERE OTHERS NOMINATED HAS NOT, anyway, it's a start.
