Before the evening drew to a close, and the guests began their journey to the Kerrang! Aftershow, a very special surprise Award was announced. Presented by Killswitch Engage's Adam D and Trivium's Matt Heafy, The Kerrang! Team received a very special Five K: Service To Metal trophy, in honour of the magazine's impact, influence, success and legacy within UK rock music over the last 25 years.

Kerrang! sucks ass. After looking through the winner's list it really doesn't suprise me that the usual suspects are there -- such as Green Day, My Chemical Romance & Muse.
Meh, Kerrang!, there are actually others bands out there!
I myself voted for KoRn in the categories they were eligable to be entered in, and I know for a fact thousands and thousands of other KoRn fans constantly voted for them on these awards because I promoted it and other fan sites did.
I bet Kerrang! just ignored the votes and before the awards were even ANNOUCED they had Green Day etc chosen as winners.

I love kerrang as much as the next fan but i have 2 say you piss me off with your kiss ass whining about my chemical romance and red hot chili fucking peppers they arnt even real bands wot about koRn and metallica u know the real bands and i have 2 say wot the fuck happend 2 greenday o yeah they turned into sell outs only carring about the money instead of the real fans the peaple who supported them since day 1now i class them as fucking pop stars

These awards are terrible. It's the same bands in every category and there's no mention of the likes of Maiden, Slayer, Trivium, Mastodon, Killswitch Engage, etc at all. I understand that emo and indie have dominated the mag but that doesn't mean ignore metal altogether.
You should let the staff pick the nominees then have the readers choose from there.
